ETERNITY (2017) MIX MEDIA DESIGN ︎︎︎

Graphic Design YUAN HUA
Art Direction YUAN HUA

Feature MY GRANDMA

Eternity (2017) is a graphic media design project inspired by the poem by Edvard Munch “From my rotting body, flowers shall grow and I am in them, and that is eternity.” and the philosophy about spirit and material.
It is a contemplation after reading the letters with a friend years ago when the topic of ‘the end of Life’ has been mentioned.
Exploring the relationship between man and nature under the influence of Cartesian dualism, which advocated that the world should be independent of spirit and material, that the essence of spirit lies in thought. After a person dies, his decaying body will provide nutrients for newly growing flowers. So, by using his life source to grow, the flowers can be viewed as an extension of him. He is living on through the new life sprung from his remains.
