MO LEI TAU JAU TAU (2018) CREATIVE DIRECTION SHORT FILM ︎︎︎

Cinematography CHAE ZIN
Art Direction YUAN HUA
Styling CHRISTINA+YUANHUA
Performer JANUS+THURSA

Mo Lei Tau Jau Tau(2018) is still and moving image project based on the research of an existing Cantonese word called 'Mo lei tau'(translated directly into nonsense and immature). It is a film style from late 80s Hong Kong movies which advocate the attitude of carpe diem and obeying the legitimacy.
‘Ni ho Mo Lei Tau’  (You are being nonsense and immature.) is heard while parents also put forward some sentences like ‘you will figure it out when you grow older.’
In the moving image, two performers are doing some nonsense actions with serious attitude, being prepared for nothing, arguement on the wall which two people yelling at the colour of an object. There are more of those hidden metaphors in the film if you’re interested.
